“Soulutions made me do it!” I whined, though Mother was not impressed.
“You wish me to believe that stupid advice column in The City Korai Daily magazine is responsible for this?” she scoffed at me. “I’ve raised you better than to blame, Daya. Haven’t I?”
“Yes, Mother,” I sniffled back, wiping at my snotty nose. I huffed at myself, embarrassed, because I’d known before even opening my mouth that Mother wouldn’t accept passing the blame. But to be real, I didn’t think passing the blame was unfair. Actually, it wasn’t unfair at all. The Soulutions column really did make me break Korainian Law, because I’d only been following its advice. Issue number four-thousand seven-hundred and eight specifically said:
