Formally known as the Lowest Lower Region, “The Pits” is the southernmost sub-region of The Mainland. Nestled in a steep valley near the marshes that separate The Mainland from the Colony Outlands, and physically overshadowed by the raised Factorylands above, its nickname comes from both its topographical depression and its long-standing association with industrial labour.

Historically, The Pits has served as a key hub for fishing, resource distribution, and manufacturing. Populated primarily by Blackscale Korainians, it forms part of the Lower Regions.

Despite limited infrastructure and economic development, The Pits remains culturally rich and socially close-knit, with many residents contributing to the essential labour systems that support the rest of The Mainland.
